MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - Russia hopes to join in Saudi Arabia's projects
to expand its railway network, Russian Ambassador to Riyadh Andrei Baklanov
told Interfax on Thursday.
"At the moment, by promoting their economic interests, many countries are trying
to gain promising initial conditions
in tenders that will be announced in Riyadh within the next few months," Baklanov
said.
"Russia has huge experience in building railways. Naturally, we have every right
to expect fruitful cooperation with
Saudi organizations in this area," the ambassador said.
A delegation of Saudi experts led by Deputy Transport Minister Ali al-Naimi
is currently on a visit to Moscow to "assess
the capabilities of potential Russian partners," he said.
